Who we are and what this policy covers
River City Eye Associates, PLLC (“we”) operates this website, rivercityeyetx.com. This policy explains what the website does and does not collect about you. It covers the website only. Information about you as a patient is protected under HIPAA and is described in our Notice of Privacy Practices, which you can request at our office or by calling (210) 930-2015.
What this website collects: almost nothing
- No accounts, forms, chat or online appointment requests. The only way to contact us from this site is by phone.
- No cookies, no analytics, no advertising trackers and no social-media pixels. The site does not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or similar tools.
- Standard web-server logs only. Like every website, our hosting provider records basic technical information when a page is requested, such as your IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure, and we do not use them to identify you.
Services from other companies
Google Maps. The maps on our Locations page load from Google only when you scroll down to them. When a map loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies under Google’s privacy policy. The “Get directions” buttons open Google Maps.
YouTube. A few of our educational videos are hosted on YouTube and play only after you press play, using YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The rest of the videos are hosted on our own server.
Links to other websites. Some pages link to other organizations’ websites. Their privacy practices are their own.
Phone links. Tapping a phone number opens the dialer on your device. The call takes place through your phone carrier, not through this website.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them through it.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). It has no login, no database of visitor information and no stored submissions.
Your choices and questions
Because the website does not collect personal information, there is nothing for us to correct or delete. Accessibility
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers or need larger text. The site is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 level AA: it works with a keyboard alone, images have text alternatives, text can be resized, and colors meet contrast requirements. The educational pages and videos on this site are general information. They are not medical advice and are not a substitute for an examination by an eye doctor. If you have a sudden change in vision, new flashes or floaters, a curtain or shadow in your vision, or eye pain, call us right away or go to the nearest emergency room.

If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a new effective date.
